I didn't actually notice the skater in this picture until after my second look. I was more impressed with the high-contrast fish eye and the interesting effect the black border had on the image. Very dynamic and eye-catching photography!

Thanks alot mate, hes not a skater but a bmxer..but ill let you off :-P
the boarder is made by chizzeling around the inside of a 35mm neg holder which lets light escape around the edges creating the boarder,
you can copy this effect in PS but not as good as the real thing.

Doh, I deserve a smack upside the head. Obviously I don't pay very close attention... I think making that effect authentic and not digital makes all the difference, though. The traditional look was what really caught my eye. (digital is nice, but it can be easy to pick out after a while!)

Sweet work. Plus developing it yourself and adding things here and there (like the border) is always respectable. Ricky Feather is famous! haha There's a vid of him on the wethepeople website I think.

I think the motion blur just adds to the atmosphere from the moody, high contrast surroundings.

cheers,
this shot gets around alot at the mo its on woozy bmx its been on the revolt site and its flying around some other bmx related sites i think.

this was the last shot i did at the colleges darkroom and that was awhile ago so im really missing the place!
